Today, in this article, we will discuss the XAT syllabus. The XAT exam believed to be the toughest MBA entrance exam. Then, XAT stands for Xavier Aptitude Test. It is the exam, which is conducted by the XLRI ( Xavier School of Management) Jamshedpur to get admission in the XLRI. When compared with the CAT exam, XAT is a difficult one. XAT Exam

Now, we will give you a brief idea about the XAT exam. It is one of the exams for doing an MBA. The exam is conducted in the online mode, it is a tough exam as there is competition and level of difficulty. The XAT exam held in the month of January. So, if you are planning to write the XAT exam. XAT Exam Eligibility

Let us understand the conditions of the XAT exam below.

  • In the first place, one must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years from any recognized university.
  • Then, students from final years can also apply for the exam
  • There are no minimum aggregate marks for the exam and also there are no restrictions on the number of attempts.
  • Then, there is the age limit to appear for the exam
  • Students from PG are required to provide the PG percentage in the form instead of the graduation percentage.
  • Lastly, all the backlogs must have been cleared before the admission through the XAT exam.

Exam Pattern

 In the XAT exam, there are two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2.

In Paper 1, there are 72 questions. Sections are Decision making, Verbal and Logical Ability, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation.

Then, paper 2 will consist of 25 questions from GK. Then, paper 2 is conducted in offline mode which is nothing but a paper and pen-based test. The time provided for Paper 1 is 170 minutes and for Paper 2 is 35 minutes.

Then, there is a total of 4 sections. Namely,

  1. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation,
  2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning,
  3. Decision Making,
  4. Lastly, GK. Then, the duration of the test is variable. A total number of questions 75 (tentative).

In the exam, you have the option not to attend the 8 questions. Then, other than that all the un-attempted questions will carry the negative marking of 0.10. So, the incorrect answer negative marking is 0.25. Then, the GK section has no negative marking.

Verbal and Logical Ability – XAT Syllabus

  • To begin with, in VA section, there will be 26 questions
  • Then, each question will carry one mark
  • If you answer wrong there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks.

  • Cloze Test
  • The poem, etc.

  • Main Idea and Purpose of the Passage

  • Explanation of Words/Phrases in the Passage

Lastly, under the logical Reasoning

  • Analogy
  • Fact, Inference and Judgment
  • Binary Logic
  • Seating Arrangement

  • Assumption, Premise and Conclusion
