CAT Exam Syllabus Pattern
There’s no official CAT Exam Pattern. There’s no fixed number of questions to be asked from each section. Hence, this ratio differs every year. But, we will try and rely on some past year’s data. Hence, we’ll try to predict the CAT 2021 pattern. But there are some static aspects to the exam as well. The time duration for the entrance test doesn’t change. The CAT Exam lasts for 2 hours or 120 mins. Moreover, there are 3 sections to this exam. Firstly there’s a VARC section. VARC stands for Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. Secondly, there’s a DILR section. DILR stands for Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. Lastly, there’s a QA section. QA stands for Quantitative Aptitude. Each section lasts for 40 mins. For PwD students, it is 53 mins 20 secs for each section.
There is a total of 76 questions in the CAT Exam. However, there are 54 MCQ-type questions. But, 22 are non MCQ type questions. Moreover, MBA CAT Exam accounts for a total of 228 marks.
For MCQ-type questions, there’s a negative marking scheme. For every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. However, each right answer earns 3 marks. If you don’t attempt a question, there’s no negative marking. But, you might lose 3 marks. Moreover, non MCQ questions are not eligible for negative marks. Hence, only MCQ-type questions follow negative marking.

This is held by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University(BVDU). Hence, you can enter into this university via B MAT. The mode of the exam is online. Secondly, let’s look at NIPER JEE MBA. It is conducted by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad. Hence, you can enter the university via NIPER JEE MBA. Lastly, let’s talk about CUSAT CAT. You can enter CUSAT B school, Cochin through this exam. However, not many universities in Indian have uni-level tests. Hence, the best way is through national-level tests.
